Introduction

  In this report, we will discuss how Cocco Bello Cafe operates and how it maintains its high quality of food, service, and customer satisfaction.  This report will let us know whether the restaurant operates efficiently or not. Thus, we well give some recommendations on how the restaurant can operate more productively.
 

About The Owner



The owner is Antonio Poto. Poto was born and raised in Italy.  At the age of 19, he immigrated to the United States. He started from the very bottom, taking low-paying jobs. After a few years, Antonio had saved some money which he used to attend beauty school for a year. While attending beauty school, he also held a full time job at a restaurant.  When he was finished with beauty school, he got a job at a hair salon in West Orange. Since he was so good at what he did, he became well known; his happy customers kept bringing in more customers.  Soon, he was offered a job by a different hair salon with a better salary, which he accepted. In the 70's Antonio bought some land in Livingston where he built his own hair salon. His salon was located in what later became a strip mall.  Some years later he bought the entire mall where he also decided to open Cocco Bello Cafe.  One of his mottos has always been "Do not work for the money, let the money work for you". 

About The Restaurant

 

Cocco Bello Cafe was opened in 2003. It started as a small place for people just to hang out while having cappuccinos, lattes, espressos, or desserts. Since the owner had numerous relatives and friends, they convinced him to make it into a restaurant. Antonio thought it wasn't a bad idea, so he went for it. Since he owns the entire strip mall where Cocco Bello Cafe is located, he expanded it and hired a chef and more staff. At the beginning, the menu was very short, only three different types of paninis and hamburgers for lunch. For dinner they had a few dishes of pasta and a few dishes of chicken. A good day would be to have gross sales of $800. But the place was becoming popular and many customers kept coming back.  So, the chef added more dishes to the lunch menu and dinner menu. Now the restaurant has 14 staff members and the chef. It can sit up to 60 people. Even though the restaurant was grown, it is still a friendly spot where people like to go to have a decent meal and relax for a while.
